     O PEN LETTER TO ALL TOWNSHIPS RE ROAD SIDE MAINTAINANCE    For the last 6 months I have been working on a children’s picture book entitled “The Magic of Pollinators”.   After much research from resources all around the world, I became extremely concerned about the alarming decline of our precious pollinator’s right here in Simcoe and all around the world.   Our future existence here on Earth depends on pollinators like the furry bumble bee, native bees, honey bees, wasps, beetles, and butterflies.         Over 450 , 000 species of plants depend entirely on pollinators. On Earth Day, 2019 the UN provided us with an alarming report - our bumblebee population has declined an astounding 89 per cent! Here in Canada, we have over 850 native bee species and an increasing number of those are at the risk of extinction.  TIME TO BOYCOTT NESTLES I n a recent analysis of  plastic bottled water bought at exorbitant premium prices from  extracted  ground water that belongs to all of us ( only 1% of  water on Earth is drinkable) it was discovered that a one litre Nestle’s Pure  Water contained 10, 000 micro particles of plastic!  So not only is  Nestle withdrawing groundwater that will negatively impact the amount of well water  available for farmers, using huge transport trucks that unnecessarily clog  our highways, exerting unnecessary stress on roads by transporting water that the majority of people do not need to drink from bottles,  but it has been demonstrated that Nestle along with Coca Cola and Pepsi is one of the top three contributors to the ocean  plastic pollution contributing  to the agonizing death of over one million marine animals every single year!  Just released -  In 2020 Nestle produced 1.7 million tons of plastics equivalent to the weight of 10, 000  blue whales!
