THUMBS DOWN TO … DOUG FORD, PREMIER OF ONTARIO, CANADA 
Researchers have demonstrated unequivocally that the four provinces in Canada with some kind of carbon tax outperformed the provinces that did not have a cap and trade etc. form of tax. 
 In spite of this fact - based research,  Doug Ford keeps repeating that a carbon tax is a job killer - all bold-faced lies!! 🙉

When Doug  Ford took power in Ontario, Canada he had around 1.7 billion dollars flowing into the Ontario coffers from a cap and trade legal agreement with Quebec and California! That amount of money paid for a plethora green energy saving projects all across Ontario. 😊

 By recklessly cancelling  this agreement  without any consultation with experts or  Ontario voters, he is facing has a short- fall of money and he is desperately looking for extra cash by cancelling all kinds of  much needed programs for students, low income families, health care, tree planting initiatives,  educational programs,  environmental protection of green spaces, endangered species - the list goes on and on.

Doug Ford claims ad nauseum that he listen to the people- they wanted him to cancel cap and trade. 
I challenge Doug ford to hold a referendum on cap and trade   to find out what the people truly wanted - that is democracy!  
 Ford could have kept  "our made in Ontario carbon tax",  but since he did not-
he  so now  wasting $30 million dollars of  tax payers money to fight the federal 
carbon tax.

Due to his ill- conceived, reckless, and senseless actions, tax payers have a short fall of 1.7 billion from cap and trade, $30 million from the carbon tax court challenge,  and  most likely, another 1 billion dollars for breaking a binding 10 year deal between the province  and the Beer Stores. 
And Doug Ford  also repeats ad nauseum that he carries deeply about saving tax payers money!! Where is the evidence??🙍

 DON'T  TREAT MOTHER EARTH LIKE A GIGANTIC GARBAGE BIN On Sunday, October 15, the Barrie Garden Club ventured out on a dark, dreary, and drizzly day to pick up litter, along Highway 26 close to Wilson Avenue. As I was picking up all kinds of litter such as license plates, chairs, discarded clothing, plastic bags, lots  of cigarette butts, and a myriad of discarded coffee containers, I began to reflect on all the problems triggered by litter. Here in Canada, we are very lucky to have an organized system where most municipalities and cities  make sure that there are regular pick-ups for your garbage, compost, and recyclables. So it boggles my mind why so many Canadians do not use the readily provided containers, but instead  treat Mother Earth like a gigantic garbage bin. I simply cannot understand when someone buys a cup of coffee, they then go for a long hike, they  manage to carry the cup full of coffee, but the minute it’s empty, they simply cannot manage...
